Mobile Starlink Installer — Same-Day Service When Your Kit Is On Site

Sixty-one percent of Mobile's homes were built before 1980, and NOAA's Mobile station records about 67 inches of rain a year, so a Starlink job here starts with an older roof, a sealed cable entry and sometimes a landlord's yes. Here's how we choose between pivot, wall and ballasted mounts, back up port-side businesses, rig bay boats, trucks and RVs, and what an install costs from Chickasaw to Pascagoula.

Need a Mobile Starlink installer? Call Nationwide Installation Techs at (877) 309-1050. With the kit at the address, our insured technicians usually finish a typical home install in one visit. Homes are priced from $385 and boats from $750. Businesses pay $750 a site, dropping to $650 each at three sites or more. Vehicles (cars, trucks, RVs) start at $650, and the per-vehicle rate falls once three or more are booked. Every install is covered by a one-year guarantee. Across 110+ reviews, Google customers rate us 4.9 stars. Contact us for a free quote. Serving Mobile, AL and all surrounding areas!

Mobile’s housing skews older. The 2020-2024 American Community Survey counts 98,380 housing units: 60,201 built before 1980, about 61 percent, and 66,317 detached houses. Counting by household, 38,974 of Mobile’s occupied homes, 46 percent, are rentals; counting by building, 23,522 units sit in structures of five or more. Those figures shape our first questions: how old the roof is, and who controls it. Starlink needs a clear view of the northern sky at your address and nothing more, since no cable, fiber or phone line has to reach the property.

Mobile Starlink installer, under-eave arm holding the dish above a vinyl house, with live oaks and a brick bungalow beyond

Some customers use it as their only connection and others keep a line they already have. Whichever you choose, we close every job with four things: a mounted dish, a sealed cable entry, a router positioned for your layout and a live speed test while we are still on site.

Our free virtual survey uses your photos and satellite imagery to judge the roof and the sky around it before we quote anything. For an in-person look, an on-site survey is available at $199. The mount and its exact position are fixed before any date is booked.

Older Houses and Composition Shingle: Matching the Mount to the Roof

About three of every five Mobile homes were built before 1980, and 5,640 go back to 1939 or earlier, so roof age drives many of our mount decisions. The pivot mount is what we fit on composition shingle with a solid deck beneath: a plate with two splayed feet fastened into rafters, and a rotating disc that stands the mast straight whatever the slope. Every hole we make is sealed, along with the full outline of the base and the heads of the bolts.

With metal, tile or slate, the covering stays untouched and the dish mounts elsewhere: a wall bracket, an eave arm, or a ballasted base that rests on top. If the roof is due for replacement soon, we mount on a wall or under an eave first, so the internet works today and the dish stays put when the new shingles go on.

Rentals, Duplexes and Apartment Buildings: A Mount Your Landlord Can Approve

For Mobile’s 38,974 rented homes, the first design question is whether anything needs to attach to the roof at all. Flat and low-slope roofs get a weighted frame instead. Pavers, cinder-block caps or bricks load into two trays, with tie-wire securing them in gusty spots; gravity holds the dish down, and no fastener goes into the roof.

You get the mount type and its exact position written down, which turns a conversation with a landlord or property manager into a discussion of a specific plan. Where the roof is pitched, a mount on the rear or side wall, or under the eave, tucks the dish away from the street. The FCC’s over-the-air reception rule is on your side too: it covers dishes of one meter or less on space you own or lease and use exclusively, and a Starlink panel is well inside that size.

Rain, Heat and Humidity on the Gulf: Why the Cable Entry Gets Extra Care

A 2007 study ranked Mobile the wettest city in the contiguous 48 states, at 66.3 inches a year over three decades. The Mobile station in NOAA’s 1991-2020 normals logs 67.08 inches of rain in a typical year, spread over 117 wet days, and 21 of those deliver an inch or more. Summer adds heat: roughly 78 days a year reach 90°F or higher, while a 100°F day occurs less than once a year.

Starlink lists operation from -22°F to 122°F for its Standard dish, which covers Mobile’s weather. Water is exactly what the cable entry is built for. We drill from inside, low on the wall, and leave the cable hanging in a U just under the opening, so water drips from the low point of the U instead of tracking into the hole. The hole itself gets a sealed grommet, and indoors a white brush plate takes the place of a raw opening.

Brookley, the Port and Downtown: Business Sites That Stay Connected

The Port of Mobile is Alabama’s only deep-water port, and Brookley, three miles south of downtown, is the largest industrial and transportation complex in the region, with more than 70 companies, many in aerospace, on 1,650 acres. Our commercial installs cover offices, retail stores, warehouses, farms and job sites, so a yard near the port or an office downtown gets the same standard. We plan around your hours so locations stay open, and multi-site customers deal with one contact.

Starlink can also back up the line you already have. The fiber or cable connection goes into WAN 1, the Starlink adapter into WAN 2 as the standby, and the router shifts traffic over automatically when the main line drops; our guide to Starlink as a backup line covers the details. For flat roofs, the base is a galvanized steel frame set on a thick rubber pad so it never touches the roof surface directly. Outbuildings anywhere from 100 feet to a mile away can share one Starlink through a wireless link to a detached office, which saves a second monthly plan and the cost of trenching.

Pickups, Vans and Service Trucks Along I-10 and I-65

Interstate 10 crosses Mobile from northeast to southwest, and I-65 begins at I-10 and heads north, so local work trucks log plenty of highway miles. Trucks with a bed rail or headache rack are usually better served there than on the cab roof: the paint stays original and you can reach the dish when you need to. A van or SUV gets a low-profile roof mount tied into the vehicle’s structure and kept off any rack or vent, with a sealed grommet where the cable enters so the door seals stay out of it. The no-drill option is a clamp that grips a rack or bed rail the vehicle already has.

The Mini is the kit most personal vehicles get, and paired with a Roam plan it carries Starlink’s approval for use while driving. Each vehicle in a group of three or more costs $650, a group of twelve or more earns an additional discount, and every unit gets the same mount specification. We come to your yard.

Boats on Mobile Bay and Around Dauphin Island

Mobile Bay spans 413 square miles, stretching 31 miles long and up to 24 miles wide, with an average depth of 10 feet. Dauphin Island’s boat ramps sit at the mouth, and Bayou La Batre farther down the coast is a fishing village whose harbor serves fishing and shrimp boats. The boat never has to move: we come to wherever it is berthed, stored or hauled out.

A boat mount has to withstand vibration and salt rather than wind and snow, so we fasten to structure that is already there: an arch on a sailboat, a hardtop on a catamaran, a rail on a trawler, a bimini frame on a pontoon. The hull and deck core stay intact, and the cable follows routes the vessel already has. Larger cruisers take the Flat High Performance kit, which Starlink rates IP56, and a day boat or tender suits the Mini. Boat installs start at $750.

RV and Camper Installs Around the Bay

On an RV, the roof, the parking spot and the router location settle the mount. The Starlink Mini carries its own Wi-Fi, so a suction mount at a sunroof works without a router. A dish on the roof sits above a metal shell, and a router placed inside the vehicle gives the strongest signal. The Performance Gen 3 always needs a router. RV and mobile installs start at $650, we travel to you and your rig, and we confirm the system is working before we leave.

What a Mobile Starlink Installation Costs

Home installs begin at $385. Any extras, such as a taller mast, a lengthy cable path, a wireless link to a second building or mesh nodes for a large floor plan, are identified in the survey, so none arrives as a surprise on installation day. Vehicles, boats and businesses each have their own rates, set out on a page of what each install type costs.

What Renters, Homeowners and Businesses Ask a Mobile Starlink Installer

Yes. A ballasted frame rests on a flat roof under its own weight and tie-wired ballast, and we write up the mount and its position so your landlord can review a specific plan.

Yes. Mounting on a wall or under an eave gets you online right away, and the dish does not need to move when the new roof goes on.

Yes. The dish is made for outdoor weather, and the cable entry, the one place water could find a way in, gets a drip loop, a sealed grommet and a brush plate.

Yes. Starlink lists operation up to 122°F, and Mobile sees about 78 days a year at 90°F or higher but fewer than one at 100°F.

The main connection feeds WAN 1 and the Starlink adapter feeds WAN 2 as a standby, so the router moves traffic over automatically if the main line fails. Where the roof is flat, a galvanized frame with a thick rubber underlay holds the dish.

Yes. A bridge links buildings that sit anywhere from 100 feet to a mile apart, and the back office or shop then runs off your existing Starlink with no new plan.

Yes. Wherever it is kept, we mount on the arch, hardtop, rail or bimini frame the boat already has, and the hull and deck core are left alone.

Is the price lower when a company equips several trucks?

Yes. Each vehicle is $650 once a group reaches three, groups of twelve or more get an additional discount, and the same mount specification applies to every unit.

Yes. A Mini carries Wi-Fi of its own, yet a dish on the roof sits above a metal shell, so the router goes inside the rig where the signal is strongest.

Installs begin at $385 for a home and $750 for a boat. Vehicles and RVs start at $650, with a lower rate per vehicle at three or more, and businesses pay $750 a site, with the rate falling to $650 at three or more.
